NCRHA Board Meeting

October 3, 2007

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by President Monte Anderman.

 

Members present:, Steve DeFrang, Brian Welman, Al Gadola, Janice Fier, Monte Anderman, Ann Riewer, Nettie Baker, Chad Clark, Jenny Wiederholt, Sarah Mackay, Nathan O’ Connor,

 

Members absent: Wanda Krause, Lacey Krause, Deb Dryden, Ken Swanson

 

 

  1. Newsletter/Directory:   Brian Welman moved the cutoff date for 2008 directory be Dec. 15, 2007.  Seconded by Chad Clark.  Motion Passed.  Diane Clark will inform the members via newsletter and postcard.  Jenny W, Sarah M, Ann R, Nettie B, and Janice F will help Diane with administrative duties.  Distribution is planned for late January 2008.

 

Chad Clark moved NCRHA advertise a one page ad in local publications. For example: MN Quarter Horse, WI Quarter Horse, and WSCA Spotlight.  Nettie Baker second.  Motion passed.

 

Also discussed: Advertising in the NRHA Reiner magazine – December issue. Showcasing our futurity, sire & dam program, tentative 2008 show schedule.

 

  1. Sire & Dam:  Chad Clark will investigate an online bidding program.  The deadline will be Noon on January 1, 2008 for final bids.

 

  1. Spookfest:  A Halloween costume event will again be offered to the kids. 

 

  1. South of the Border:  A drag is still needed.  (Kiser Drag does not have drags to rent) Chad will discuss with Greg Gottschalk, Al will inquire with Tammy Monson, and Steve is contacting Corey Hendrickson on availability.  Brian Welman moved we postpone the SOB show in 2008 and in its place, have a one day show.  This would allow us to readdress it for 2009. Sarah MacKay seconded.  Motion was tabled until next meeting due to pending concerns of drag.

 

  1. Nominating:  Nettie reported the terms of Ann Riewer, Steve DeFrang, and Deb Dryden are up for reelection in 2008.

 

  1. Banquet:  If anyone is interested in planning the 2008 Awards Banquet, please contact Monte a.s.a.p.

April 5 & 6.   Show at Winona, MN

May 9, 10 & 11.   Extrav. at Red Horse Ranch.

June 6, 7, & 8.   SOBC at Roscoe, IL OR One Day Show

July 12.   One Day Show

July 30, 31, August 1, 2, & 3.  Futurity at St. Paul

September 27.   Slide Rule at UWRF

October 24, 25, 26.   Spookfest, Winona, MN

      

 

The next meeting is Wednesday, November 7th at Westwind Supper Club, River Falls.
